Chiropractic Care for Headaches

Many people who suffer from frequent headaches or migraine headaches and have been unable to find relief from traditional medical care are turning to chiropractic care.  In fact, it is estimated that about 15% of chiropractic patients seek chiropractic care for headache relief.  Chiropractic care focuses on misalignments along the spinal column that put pressure on nerves which in turn can cause various ailments including headaches.

Chiropractors treat headaches by using gentle adjustments of the spinal column along with strengthening exercises to return the patient’s spine to its proper alignment and relieve the pressure on the nerves. In addition, for headache relief a chiropractor may use neuromuscular massage and other techniques to relieve the tension in the neck and back muscles.
